Shady Oaks Estates is located just 30 minutes from the Fort Hood Army Base in Killeen, Texas. For many years now the government has helped military personnel, active or retired, with the Veterans Administration (VA) Loan. Most of them qualify for 100% financing up to $417,000 and a very low interest rate. This is a great benefit for many of our veterans and active duty military. It allows them to purchase a completed home or a resale home with little to no down payment. However, when building a new custom home you must qualify for a “construction loan”. The standard construction loan down payment most lenders, mortgage companies, and banks require is 10% down.
