BUILT ON A FOUNDATION OF TRUST

WE HAVE A FOUNDATION
Construction Part II

Our Jimmy Jacobs Custom Home is on the ground and we are going to watch it grow. First, the forms were set and it rained (12”) that helped in packing down the fill material. Next, the cement was poured and finished; I walked over to write my name in it (?). The rain came the next day and on and off since—this is very good for the foundation. The framing material has been dropped off and it is covered. I know in a day or two we will have “sticks in the air”.

Now, I know you on wondering about all those decisions we have been making. It is a good idea to have an idea of what you want before you begin the new Custom Home process. You would be surprised to know how soon many of the building materials need to be ordered far in advance. My least favorite items to select were appliances; I can’t understand why we need all those appliances. The granite and tile backsplash makes sense—it is really pretty. I even have a special box in my car with samples of my granite, tile and wood, if you would like to see it. We have selected the exterior stone, stucco and trim color, but I have no idea what color I am painting the inside. I am so thankful we have a state of the art Design Center and very talented Decorators at JJCH to help us make selections and keep track of everything. Now, I am just obsessed with ceiling fans, 13 of them to be exact-----I wonder if Dave would like some for the garage.

When I arrived home a couple of weeks ago I spotted a new army cot and supplies in the garage. It seems Dave found a great sale at Cabela’s, does he really think he is going to furnish one of the new bedrooms or is he moving on to the lot…………………..
